Atopic Dermatitis in Adolescents Clinical Study Details

Atopic dermatitis is common and affects up to 25% of children. We are inviting you to take part in a clinical study for children and teens between the ages of 12 and 17 years of age, inclusive, who suffer from atopic dermatitis.

Has your child’s eczema not improved enough with topical treatments, or are topical treatments not suitable?

Does your child weigh at least 40 kg (88 lbs)?

Using your child’s hand as a guide, how many palm-sized areas of skin are affected by eczema? (Each palm = ~1% of the body)

Has your child ever received a biologic treatment for eczema?

Is your child between 12 and 17 years old?

On a scale of 1 to 10, how severe is your child's itching?

Has your child been diagnosed with atopic dermatitis (eczema) by a doctor?

Has your child had eczema for at least 1 year?

Has your child ever been diagnosed with HIV, hepatitis B, or hepatitis C?

Has a healthcare provider told you your child’s eczema is moderate or severe?

In the past 4 weeks, has your child used any of the following?

What age do I need to be to join this study?

You must be at least 12 years old. If you’re under 18, a parent or guardian will need to provide consent, and you’ll need to give assent.

How severe does my eczema (AD) need to be?

You must have had chronic AD for at least one year, affecting 10% to 25% of your body. You’ll also need to meet specific scoring levels for itching (NRS ≥6), eczema severity (EASI ≥16), and overall skin condition (IGA ≥3).

What if topical treatments haven’t worked for me?

You may qualify if your doctor believes you’ve had an inadequate response to topical treatments or if those treatments aren’t medically advisable for you.

Do I need to track my symptoms before joining?

Yes, you’ll be asked to log your itching symptoms daily in an electronic diary for at least 4 out of 7 days before the study begins.

Are there any weight requirements?

Yes, if you’re between 12 and 17 years old, you must weigh at least 40 kg (about 88 lbs).

What are the birth control or reproductive health requirements?

Participants must follow study-specific contraception guidelines, based on sex assigned at birth and local regulations. Your study team will explain what applies to you.
